Our Research Plan

Introducing: a landmark national research project by, for and about BWGGD. This groundbreaking research plan will document the lived experience of BWGGDT survivors of anti-Black gender-based violence to advance equity.

Our goal is to reach and represent the diversity of BWGGDT across the country.

Why It Matters

It speaks to African Indigenous ways of knowing and being, which are the cultural heritage of Black communities across Canada, both historically and contemporarily.
It ensures that the research is Black identity affirming, and in doing so, is culturally responsive and relevant to Black women, girls, gender diverse & trans people.
It counters conventional white Eurocentric research by centring BWGGDT voices and lived experiences.
